The research library is comprised of approximately six-hundred books, magazines and journals and includes a vertical file of brochures, clippings and other published and non-published sources of information on the history and culture of Fidalgo and Guemes Islands. The purpose of the research library is to provide interested scholars and the general public with resources for study and enjoyment pertaining to the history and culture of Fidalgo and Guemes Islands. Furthermore, the Anacortes Museum research library endeavors to maintain an up-to-date accounting of the issues affecting the area and the community’s continuously evolving history through memberships and subscriptions.

Finally, the research library contains books and other sources pertaining to the museum profession and the field of historic preservation. The research library is open to the public Thursday - Monday, 1-5 p.m. and by appointment.
